If we change together, we can rewrite the future!

Environmental pollution is not destiny — it is a solvable crisis. Each year, nearly 11 million tons of plastic waste enter aquatic ecosystems. Microplastics travel across seas and infiltrate our soil, contributing to the destruction of natural resources and the loss of biodiversity. Alarming studies show that microplastics can even be found in our bloodstream, lungs, and breast milk. But this doesn’t have to be how the story ends. The theme of World Environment Day 2025 makes it clear: a systematic and collective fight against plastic pollution is essential.

Driven by our belief in the importance of taking responsibility and raising awareness for a sustainable future, we organized a coastal and marine cleanup event under the coordination of Mr. Saygın Yörük, Regional Manager of the Marine Conservation Branch of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.

This project offered us the opportunity to observe the working principles of marine sweeper vessels firsthand and gain in-depth insights into the dedicated efforts of the cleanup teams. It was a meaningful step toward raising awareness for clean resources and a livable future. At this critical turning point, as SETAŞ, we are doing our part through sustainable solutions — transforming and healing our world. Because there is no Planet B. And for us, sustainability is not a choice — it’s a responsibility.
